“Have a heart, Save my liver!” – Global day of action targeting Roche and Merck
On the occasion of the 2013 Valentine’s Day on February 14th, MdM in partnership with TAG launched a call to action targeting pharmaceutical companies Merck and Roche (translated into the 6 languages), asking activist to send a “Valentine’s Day card” to Merck and Roche leaders’ emails. This Valentine’s Day card is a visual summarizing the main information and issues related to HCV access to treatment. In addition to this campaigning tool, a press release both in French and English was displayed through MdM and TAG media contacts.
Outcomes
The angle chosen – half humoristic, half alerting – represented a good opportunity to advertise and raise awareness on the issue of access to HCV treatment (taking into account that the World Hepatitis Day remains quite confidential and slightly covered by the media in this period of vacations).
Personal involvement
Co-writing of messages and press release, coordination with the graphic designer, dissemination of the campaign via social networks and international activist mailing-lists. Writing and layout of the flyer.
