Promotion of harm reduction in Afghanistan through a website

Within MdM’s Harm Reduction program in Kabul, I was coordinating the national training and resources center on Harm reduction and HIV. In this frame, a website dedicated to the promotion of HR, services and philosophy, was developed to host trainings curriculum and publications that were produced by MdM team.

Outcomes

The website was published on mid-2010, in 3 languages (English, Dari and Pastho). It helped: to improve skills in management of HR, addiction and HIV/AIDS programs within the country (training material was available online), to sustain network of Afghan HR NGOs and to increase visibility on the Afghan drug use context. As MdM mission left 3 years after and because none of the afghan organizations took over the website, this one is closed…

Personal involvement

Project management of the website: conception of its structure, coordination with the web designer on the graphic and technical aspects. Training of the afghan team of future administrators, writing of articles, coordinating translations and posting articles online in 3 languages.
